MODERN APPROACHES TO THE INTERPRETATION OF WOMEN'S IMAGES IN THE ASPECT OF THEIR COMPLEX ANALYSIS

Abstract

The focus of the proposed article is the question of the methodology of interpretation of female images, taking into account three aspects: semiotic, psycholinguistic and cognitive. The aim of the article is to develop approaches to the interpretation of female images in the aspect of researching the Ukrainian-language picture of the world based on the material of Ukrainian prose of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The relevance of the proposed study is based on the need to study the existing cognitive units-elements of the conceptual field that have already been embodied in the modern Ukrainian language and new ones that are still being formed at the semantic and conceptual level of the ontological perception of the transformed role of a woman and her image in the minds of Ukrainians. As a result of the research, it was found that the concept model of a successful woman in the Ukrainian-language fiction of the late 20th – early 21st centuries. is a grouping of units based on a certain semantic category, which is a semantic invariant that unites various combinatorial, lexical-syntactic means of the Ukrainian language system and determines their interaction based on the commonality of their semantic functions. The main levels of analysis are the semantic (semiotic) level of interpretation, which involves the analysis of the connotations of verbal units for drawing a portrait of a successful woman, the conceptual (cognitive) level of perception and awareness of a successful woman by a Ukrainian-speaking reader, and the ontological (psycholinguistic) level of situations, feelings and events created due to or because of the success of the woman herself. A comprehensive analysis of a separate female image can be divided into several semantic elements and is necessarily derived from the ethno-cultural perception of a certain profession or type of activity by Ukrainian society.
