CULTURE OF SECURITY OF PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY OF FUTURE SAFETY ENGINEERS: ANALYSIS OF THE CONDITION

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of formation of the culture of safety of professional activity in future occupational safety and health engineers. The purpose of the article is to study the state of formation of the culture of safety of professional activity among future occupational safety and health engineers. The theoretical basis of the research is substantiated; scientific works, which make a significant contribution to the development of the research problem, are identified. In the process of scientific and experimental work, the following theoretical and empirical research methods were used: analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature; systematization and generalization of research results; surveys and questionnaires of students, teachers of higher education institutions that provide professional training of occupational safety and health engineers, and engineers on labor protection at industrial enterprises and organizations; conversations to study the state of formation of the culture of safety of professional activity. The results of the survey of respondents on the understanding of the concept of “culture of safety of professional activity” and the importance of future occupational safety and health engineers to have the culture of safety of professional activity are presented. The results of the survey of students on the knowledge of general culture, culture of labor protection, culture of labor, culture of health are presented; their needs to improve professional skills related to the performance of professional activities on the basis and principles of the culture of safety of professional activity are identified. The self-assessment of students’ readiness to perform the tasks of professional activity on the principles and priority of the culture of safety of professional activity is carried out. The results of the survey of respondents to assess the effectiveness of forms of formation of the culture of safety of professional activity in future occupational safety and health engineers are summarized. Problems that hinder the effective formation of the culture of safety of professional activity have been identified. It is concluded that it is necessary to conduct a thorough and experimental study of the scientific problem of formation of the culture of safety of professional activity among future occupational safety and health engineers.
