Abstract
The rapid social transformations experienced by global society in recent decades, the global economic crisis and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic have radically changed not only people's living conditions, but also the educational situation. One of the major breakthroughs in technology and teaching methods is blended learning, which involves the application of the flipped learning model. The essence of the «flipped classroom» technology is to change the sequence of the stages of the learning process, when learning new material is carried out on students' independent work, and its consolidation takes place in practical classes. The content of homework and work in the classroom are interchanged. Flipped learning involves shifting priorities from simply presenting the material to working on improving it. The article demonstrates the need for new teaching methods and technologies, which would be adequate to the current trends and requirements, and suggests flipped learning technology as one of the new effective teaching methods, which could be used in combination with traditional ones to form an optimal approach to learning. The publication deals with the problem of flipped learning implementation, its theoretical foundations, peculiarities, advantages and disadvantages. The author proves the possibility of implementing flipped learning classes in the English language using different e-learning platform resources, meeting requirements and needs of students and teachers to provide the effective organization of the educational process. The toolkit for implementing flipped learning technology in the English language learning process is revealed. The paper summarizes that the use of «flipped learning» technology, if applied methodologically correctly, will contribute to the development of teachers' digital competence, the development of academic skills of students, increasing their motivation and success.
