TRENDS AND FEATURES OF DEVELOPMENT NON-STATE HIGHER SCHOOL IN THE WORLD EDUCATIONAL SPACE

Abstract

The investigation is devoted to revealing the trends and peculiarities of the development of non-state higher school in the world dimension. Based on the historiographical analysis, the degree of elaboration of the selected problem was clarified and it was confirmed that the development of the non-governmental sector of higher education belongs to the current trends of the global market of educational services. Using terminological analysis, the key concepts of the study were clarified. Due to the retrospective analysis of the evolution of the world educational space, the historical aspects of the development of non-state higher education institutions in the twentieth century are presented. With the help of synchronous analysis of the course of innovation processes in the world educational space, the regional and essential features of the development of the private sector of higher education in different countries of the world are revealed. The synthesis method summarizes the main advantages and disadvantages of private higher education institutions in the world dimension at the beginning of the XXI century. The dominance of the private sector of higher education in terms of quantitative characteristics and quality of educational services is shown. The types of higher education institutions of the non-governmental sector, distributed in different countries of the world, are characterized. The peculiarities of elite private universities and colleges aimed at mass education are outlined. The significance of the positive experience of highly developed countries in the development of educational models in different countries is revealed. The strengthening of such tendencies in the development of non-state higher education at the beginning of the XXI century as: liberalization, democratization, modernization of university autonomy, diversification, elitization, commercialization, integration, international coordination is revealed. Based on the method of generalization, the results, conclusions and prospects of developing the selected problem are presented.
