FORMATION OF PATRIOTIC CONSCIOUSNESS OF STUDENT YOUTH THROUGH THE STUDY OF THE FOLKLORE HERITAGE OF LESYA UKRAINKA AND IHOR STRAVINSKY (DRAMA “FOREST SONG”, BALLET “SACRED SPRING”)

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of forming the patriotic consciousness of young people through the study of the folklore heritage of the poetess Lesya Ukrainka and the composer Igor Stravinsky, given their stay in Volyn. Forming patriotism and affirming national values is an integral part of educating children and youth. First of all, national-patriotic education includes education and science, youth and family, culture and art. Considering this issue through the prism of modernity, we argue that the teaching profession influences the formation of artistic and aesthetic worldview from an early age. Therefore, it is advisable to educate young people on folklore sources, exploring the work of artists-innovators, namely – Lesya Ukrainka and Igor Stravinsky, and their unique compositions, such as: drama “Forest Song” and ballet “Holy Spring”. Volyn land brought up two original artists. She is the most famous woman of Ukraine, a noblewoman by origin, a landowner, an outstanding personality, whose work was dominated by the ideals of service to the homeland. She was driven by the desire to preserve the slowly disappearing Ukrainian folklore heritage. Lesya Ukrainka is the author of a brilliant work of the early twentieth century “Forest Song”. This drama is based on the folklore of Volyn, its customs, rituals and traditions and combines the folklore world of Volyn and Volyn songs with art and words. He is a native of the branch of Polish nobles and Ukrainian hetmans – a talented composer and conductor Igor Stravinsky – created a brilliant masterpiece of world art – the ballet “Sacred Spring”. It embodies the vision of the ritual culture of the ancient Slavs, here the artist abandoned the usual plasticity of classical ballet, using new forms of choreography.
