Abstract
The article analyzes the scientific reception of A. Averchenko’s work of the European (Prague) period of emigration (1922-1925), which is called European because the works of the writer showed a positive influence of European society, in particular the positive attitude towards Prague as a benevolent city. accepted the emigrant writer, and the Czechs as a nation that differs favorably from the Russians in mentality. Of interest are the original methods of creating comics, borrowed by modern comedians. The symbiosis of Averchenko’s old satire, characterized by good-natured irony, and the new one – sharp and even crude in nature, is emphasized, which researchers analyze in the context of both the life and work of the writer and the development of the comic genre. It is determined that according to reviews and reviews in the local press, A. Averchenko was perceived in Europe as an organic component of the general European culture, and not an unusual phenomenon of Russian. He felt this against the background of life comfort, which is reflected in the mass of literary, theatrical and journalistic works that have been translated into many European languages, as well as in constant tours with Europe. It is concluded that an exclusively positive attitude towards the Czechs is opposed to a negative attitude towards Russian emigrants, who find it difficult to adapt to civilized European life; at the same time, anti-Bolshevik motives continue in stories and feuilletons; the writer adheres to his own aesthetic and moral ideals, which are closely connected with world literary traditions; there is a gradual transition from caustic post-revolutionary satire to good pre-revolutionary humour, which is due to the comfortable living conditions in Prague, which he was deprived of the Bolshevik revolution and which directly affect the fruitfulness of creativity.
