Abstract

The Internet provides us with numerous opportunities to communicate with other users, and thus the range of its tools is extremely wide. In this article, we focus on the language of social networks, which has become extremely popular among Internet users. Today, a large number of linguistic studies are devoted to the understanding and analysis of communication, especially live communication via the Internet, which is accessible through numerous modern devices, which clearly indicates a high level of scientific and technological progress. The article presents the linguistic features of communication in social networks, namely the paralinguistic means of emoticons. Currently, a large number of philological studies are devoted to the understanding and analysis of communication, especially live communication via the Internet, which is available due to numerous modern devices, which clearly indicates a high level of scientific and technological progress. The article presents the linguistic features of communication in social networks, namely the paralinguistic means of emoticons. Computer communication is multifaceted. In terms of scale, it can be considered mass (communication with the whole world), intrapersonal (communication between the user and the computer), and group communication. Computer communication can be a means of interpersonal communication (one to the other); a form of mass communication (one to many) and relationship communication (many to many). In online communication, emoticons are of great importance. Without emoticons, there would be difficulties with humor, because sometimes messages can look offensive. Still, the emoticon at the end of a message changes everything and makes virtual communication more intense, original, and emotional. Visible problems and shortcomings are inherent in the emoticon form of communication, which uses auxiliary elements to interpret emotions through smiles. In the new understanding of the context of the networked society, communication develops similarly to that of children at the stage when they have just learned to speak simple phrases and convey more complex ones with facial expressions, gestures, and facial expressions. There is only one significant difference – a child cannot lie like an adult who can use offensive emoticons. For example, a bad mood, veiled by skillful manipulation of words and a set of smiles.
