Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the onymic vocabulary in the poetic language of Anatoly Mykhailovych Popovsky, a well-known onomatopoeia, dialectologist. In the poetry of A. Popovsky, proper names include encyclopedic information, they are also one of the sources of studying the dynamics of naming people in certain historical periods. Proper names become expressions of both the necessary expressive tonality and the artistic idea. The exacting selection of onymes and their introduction into proper contexts make proper names one of the most important components of the work. The material for the study was the poems of the new collection «In Reflections of the Current Time...». A group of anthroponyms representing «names of historical persons», «names of famous persons» used for the purpose of time marking is singled out. It has been proven that the anonymous lexicology is a rich language layer, thanks to which the poet's artistic idea is realized. In the process of research, we find out which names of poems the author uses. Anatoly Popovsky has many technical names, as well as those containing the time of action, the idea of the work, etc. Among the dedicatory poems, the following model structures prevail: two-lexem – «name + surname» and three-lexem «name + patronymic + surname». It was found that the author uses many Ukrainian male and female names. Personal names form wordforming variants. The anthroponyms Shevchenko and Kobzar occupy a special place in A. Popovsky's collection «In Reflections of the Current Time». Toponyms convey geographical and historical information, create an image.
